En el corazón del Stepping Stones Museum for Children hay un compromiso inquebrantable con la inclusión. Ese compromiso está plasmado en la galardonada Iniciativa de Accesibilidad de Brazos Abiertos (Open Arms) del museo para niños, que brinda a miles de niños, padres y maestros cada año la oportunidad de disfrutar del museo sin importar las barreras financieras, del idioma, culturales o de necesidades especiales. El jueves 8 de noviembre, Stepping Stones será el anfitrión de la tercera recaudación de fondos anual de FriendsGiving en su icónica instalación en el histórico Mathews Park de Norwalk. Las ganancias del evento apoyarán la iniciativa Brazos Abiertos (Open Arms).

La fiesta festiva de recaudación de fondos reúne a viejos y nuevos amigos para una agradable velada con un cóctel especial, entremeses y una hora de red de trabajo a partir de las 6:30 pm, seguida de una cena íntima basada en un delicioso menú inspirado en el Día de Acción de Gracias por Marcia Selden Catering y Eventos a las 7:30 pm. “Esta exquisita experiencia gastronómica dejará su corazón abrumado y un gran número de niños y familias locales profundamente agradecidos por su papel en asegurarse de que las mejores oportunidades educativas estén disponibles para todos los niños”, explicó Rhonda Kiest, CEO y presidente de Stepping Stones Museo de Niños. “Ahora, más que nunca, ya que muchas familias enfrentan mayores desafíos, es de vital importancia que sigamos recibiendo apoyo financiero para Brazos Abiertos (Open Arms)”.

A través de esta iniciativa de accesibilidad de misión crítica, Stepping Stones puede ofrecer noches mensuales gratuitas de admisión, programa gratuito de membrecía familiar, admisión gratuita durante todo el año para familias de militares en servicio activo a través del programa Blue Star Museums, admisión reducida para transferencia electrónica de beneficios (Titulares de la tarjeta EBT) a través del programa Museos para Todos, días de admisión gratis para familias de niños con necesidades especiales y una serie de otras oportunidades educativas importantes y atractivas para niños, familias, escuelas Título 1 y socios comunitarios.

That commitment is embodied by the award-winning children’s museum’s Open Arms Accessibility Initiative, which provides thousands of children, caregivers and teachers each year the opportunity to enjoy the museum regardless of financial, language, cultural or special needs barriers.  On Thursday, November 8, Stepping Stones will be hosting is a 3rd annual FriendsGiving fundraiser at its iconic facility in Norwalk’s historic Mathews Park.  Proceeds from the event will support Open Arms initiative.

The festive fundraising fete brings together friends old and new for an enjoyable evening featuring a special signature cocktail, hors-d’oeuvres and networking hour beginning at 6:30 pm followed by an intimate harvest dinner, based on a delectable, Thanksgiving-inspired menu from Marcia Selden Catering and Events at 7:30 pm.   

“This exquisite fine dining experience will leave your heart warmed and a great number of local children and families deeply thankful for your role in making sure that the best educational opportunities are available to all children,” explained Rhonda Kiest, CEO and President of Stepping Stones Museum for Children. “Now, more than ever, as many families face greater challenges, it is vitally important we continue to receive financial support for Open Arms.” 

Stepping Stones is inviting, welcoming and diverse learning community which values and celebrates all children and families for their similarities and uniqueness, broad-ranging abilities, experiences, interests, needs, and perspectives.  Simply put, many children and their families would not have access to the museum without Open Arms.  In 2018, Open Arms will serve more than 75,000 children, caregivers, and teachers throughout the region. Through this mission-critical accessibility initiative, Stepping Stones is able to offer monthly free admission evenings, free Family Membership program, year-round free admission for active-duty military families through the Blue Star Museums program, reduced-admission for Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cardholders through the Museums for All program, free admission days for families of children with special needs and a host of other important and engaging educational opportunities for children, families, Title 1 schools and community partners.

The mission of Stepping Stones Museum for Children is to broaden and enrich the educational opportunities for children ages ten and under and enhance their understanding of the world. Space for FriendsGiving is limited. Single ticket prices start at $275 and a table of eight can be reserved for $2,250. Special pricing for members is $250 per ticket.
